Seriously, I’ve got nothing worth writing about at the moment. Despite that, here I am so I’ll just make this up as I go along.

Still playing ArmA2 incessantly, and though most of my particular problems are worked out I get the odd CTD and BSoD. The CTD’s are just in the campaign and I think it’s going to take patch l.03 (or later) to fix that stuff. The BSoD’s…. BS’soD?… blue screens of death, yeah… they are a different story. They’re infrequent but do happen and I think related to either my RAM timings (recently moved to 6GB so that needs tuning), my overclock in general or very possibly my USB hubs. Yes that’s right, USB hubs. The last two BSoD events I got said something about a “USB device” problem, though I was too annoyed to read it all. Some research has told me that having a TrackIR, joystick, keyboard, mouse, etc all plugged into the same batch of USB plugs on your system can draw too much power and cause blue screen of death problems. Who knew? Not me, as I currently have all my shit jammed into the back of my rig. I did experiment with plugging the TrackIR up front early on as I suspected a problem but when I narrowed it down to something else I jammed it in the rear again. That’s right, I jammed it in the rear. I think I definitely need to experiment with that a bit tonight… the USB location, not “jamming it in the rear”. Please people.
What else. Contemplated trying out Anno 1404 but sort of spontaneously came to the conclusion that I’d be better off just reinstalling Civilization 4. As soon as I can bring myself to accept Civ4’s time-sucking-time-suckery I may go ahead and try it again. Continue…
